From requirement to tested batch

TRIWES is the right partner when medium, temperature or approval narrow your choice and every repeat delivery has to meet the same values. So that this is documented and not just promised, every batch is checked against the agreed values. We issue the test report on request.

Three routes to your material, small series included

You tell us what the material has to do. We look for the grade that meets your specification, adjust it, or develop a new one. And if no elastomer meets your requirement, you hear that in the first conversation.

1

Stock material

If your specification matches one of the grades held in Detmold, we supply from a single roll. Otherwise from ten rolls or sheets.

2

Modification

If a grade nearly fits, we change hardness, colour or resistance. A sample is usually with you after a few weeks, depending on material and process.

3

New development

If the material does not exist, we develop it from the formulation up, and for moulded parts with our own tooling. Quantity, date and cost are fixed before anything is built.

At Steinbach AG, we manufacture seals in high volumes for demanding industries. For our material supply, we therefore rely on TRIWES as a reliable partner with technical expertise.

Six steps to delivery

The route is the same whether you need a roll from stock or a formulation that does not exist yet. Only the steps in the middle vary in length.

Applications
1

Enquiry

You tell us where the part sits, what it has to withstand and how much you need. A drawing helps but is not required.

2

Technical conversation

On the phone you get the managing director, thirty years in the trade, not a sales desk. He names the grade that comes into question.

3

Formulation and costing

We define the compound or adapt an existing one. Values, price, quantity and date are fixed before anything is made.

4

Sample

The sample is usually with you after a few weeks, made in the same plant as the series that follows and against the same values.

5

Tested delivery

Every batch is checked against the agreed values: thickness measurement, visual inspection, laboratory values.

6

Delivery from stock

Once the series is running, your grade is held in Detmold, including for small call-offs and with no wait for the next batch.

Every batch is tested

You cannot tell by looking at a sheet whether it will hold. That is why every batch is checked at several points on its way to you: thickness at the line, visual inspection after unpacking, physical values in the laboratory, and finally the comparison against the signed delivery specification. Our managing director designed this testing chain himself and introduced it at the partner plants. We issue the test report on request.

What happens when your volume grows

The same plant

The series runs in the plant that already made the sample. Same line, same values.

Volume

Capacity does not hang on a single line. Quantities and dates are agreed individually for series and call-offs.

Repeat delivery

Once the series is running, we hold your grade in Detmold, including for small call-offs.

Development

Our partner plants have their own development departments. A new formulation needs no external laboratory.

Materialien bei TRIWES

Service life begins in the compound

How long an elastomer lasts in service depends largely on its formulation. That is why we develop and produce our compounds ourselves. It keeps the composition in our hands and lets us tune it to the load the part will carry. Rubber, fillers, cross-linking and ageing protection are the basis for the quality and resistance of our sheeting and moulded parts. That applies to all 22 grades, to stock material just as much as to series production. And if your application calls for particular properties, we adjust the formulation or develop a new compound.

Quality you can look up

Company

ISO 9001

Certified quality management at TRIWES.

Partner plants

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 at the plants producing for you.

Test report

On request, against the signed specification.

Batch traceability

Every metre and every sheet documented, years later too.

What this becomes in the application

This way of working produces parts that hold where you cannot reach them again after installation: inside an analytical instrument, in the cooling circuit of a vehicle, in a building wall. Four applications, each with its job and the material that solves it.

Why it takes 22 grades

If you mix your own, you can grade finely. That is why eight families hold 22 grades, from 25 to 85 Shore A, and every one of them can be shifted further. With property values, resistances and the certifications that exist.

Tell us what your part has to withstand

Ten minutes on the phone will settle whether your part runs from stock or needs a compound of its own.
